Congratulations, Eric. I love how surprising that last line felt. I thought what? Wouldn't he have found that news disconcerting? Wouldn't he think: they didn't know "The Garvey," how could anybody mistake "The Garvey" for someone else?
And then it hit me how perfect, and layered, that last line is. Of course, he's always been "The Garvey," he's always been just him, perfecting, perfecting, perfecting, how freeing to be mistaken for someone else, how freeing the possibility of BECOMING someone else. Very nicely done.
