Here's a 'promotional' video for my forthcoming chapbook, Snowing Fireflies (Folded Word Press, Summer 2010), in which I solve a Rubik's Cube I tattooed with magic marker:
Big thanks to my sister's boyfriend, Michael Book (my sister and Mike live together, and their mailbox reads: Beeny/Book — I like that), for borrowing his brother's camera and filming this. It's a little grainy, a bit shaky, but I'm trying to be okay with that. It's set to a piece of music I wrote called "Labyrinth." Thank you for watching...

this is great. If i tried to make this video it would be 12 hours long and end with an unintelligible bunch of letters mixed all up cuz i still wouldn't have solved the fucker.
at the end your fingers looked like a spider
LOVE IT!!!!!! And I'm with x, although I'd be popping the bits apart and reconstructing it:-)
Man, you made me grin from ear to ear. I love this!!!
I'm in the corner with xTx: I could never do the damn RC.
I also enjoyed "Labyrinth" and how everything is paced. Mostly, though, I love those moments right after you turn the cube and show your name: your eyes shine.
I like this.
You are a genius.
Thanks, x. I figured out how to solve the cube a long time ago, sitting there with it, working out the algorithms and jotting them down in a notebook to see which worked and which didn’t. The world record for solving it is like 7.8 seconds. My best time is just under a minute. I obviously didn’t go that quick here...
Thanks, Jessi. I feel like I messed up because I didn’t hold the ‘Folded Word Press’ side on screen long enough. I guess it’s okay, though...
Thanks, Ethel. I was worried about the pacing, so I’m big happy you thought it worked. I’m big happy you liked the music, too...
Thanks for watching and liking this, Ben...
Thanks, Molly. According to my calculations, the probability of my being a genius is highly unlikely if not completely impossible...
everything at all
so very cool
Thanks, Crispin...
Thanks, Charles...
